Signaling the End of a Great App
Tl:dr - OkC is making some very strange business and feature decisions that are actively limiting its purpose. Take business elsewhere.
OkCupid has been a staple of expanding my social life for awhile now, and its no stranger to changes big and small. But its been slowly removing a lot of the usefulness thats put it ahead of its competitors in support of being more friendly to a very enigmatic demographic of users. Now the most recent decision to take away the ability to see visitors and recall who you last visited borders on insanity. It takes out a huge portion of what gets people looking at each others profiles and makes the whole thing feel stagnant. They copy and paste the same response to the issue, which is that it allows everyone to feel the comfort of browsing invisibly, but honestly, why would you completely remove that when you couldve just made the option free from the A-list paywall? Why remove anything at all? The framework is there and theres no discernible monetary benefit to change a feature people like by and large. Im definitely requesting a refund for my A-list if this is the direction its headed.
