OkCupid Dating: Date Singles App Reviews

Always says "No Internet Connection." Ive contacted several times and no one responds.

All of my personal photos were deleted then when I inquired about it the next day my account was deleted. I had no explicit photos or anything worth deleting my account for. Not any rude offensive jokes, and my photos were of me. This is the third time this has happened and when I asked them why did they do that? They only said "the situation has been dealt with your account has been suspended for now following TOS." Uh? No. Thats not dealt with. You deleted my account for no reason. But its for the best. This app and customer service are terrible and im never using it again. Also last I checked yesterday the app was at 1.5 stars and now its jumped up. Fishy.

Took away "who viewed you".

Bring back the "whos visited" tab. Or let people decide if they want to "browse invisibly" or not. I for one, dont mind if someone knows that Ive viewed their profile. It seems like this app gets worse and worse. Delete!! **Update. I got a canned "developer response" about requesting a refund for A list if I paid for that because of invisible browsing. Silly OKCupid. Id never pay for something that I didnt care about. I deleted my account as of 8/3/17. OkCupid...time to go night-night.

When I was having trouble finding someone that I clicked with, my friends who had found their long term partners through this recommended it to me. After a few times of creating my profile and deleting it, a special someone messaged me! The rest is history :) and recently a new friend said her sister and her husband met on this too!

This app is a good app until they took away the feature that shows who views the profile. i get that they made the invisible browsing free to everyone but instead it would be more beneficial to users if it was an option instead of an automatic invisible view. just my opinion

The fact that people could actually see when I visited them was one of the best things about OKC. This whole "invisible browsing is now a free feature" is a weak attempt at spinning this change which is obviously motivated by something else. I also hate that the notes for the latest update only mention some obscure bug fix, not this major change. OKC folks are out of touch. I am deleting the app.

They have removed "visited you" & "you visited" from the app. Ive become less satisfied with OKC, and as someone who is usually recommending this service, its a big disappointment. After a series of bad updates, and now the removal of visitors, I refuse to continue to use this site. *Developer Response* I wasnt an invisible browser. Nor did I have a-list. I didnt even mention A-list in my review. You are stripping away default components of your site, and failing to replace them with equal or better features. In fact, IIRC invisible browsing was always a free feature, but if you had it enabled you couldnt see who visited you. I thought that was a great compromise.

Congrats on becoming as useless as every other dating app out there! First, you took away the ability to sort by new members, now you cant see whos viewed your profile, an integral part of flirting in this complicated world of online dating. Stop pushing out useless updates in an attempt to wash your bad app store rating.

I hate that they got rid of the visitors section! I loved that feature and I hate swiping through profiles. Deleting app!

EDIT: I want to lower my rating even further, due to the canned developer responses that have nothing to do with the content of my feedback, but I cant because I cant go lower than 1 star ---- This used to be my go-to dating app, but theyve been slowly losing their way and forgetting what made them great while they try to compete with the swipe-style dating apps that have become popular. Features have been added which simply dont mesh at all with Okcupids core and sometimes are completely at odds with itself, and many other features have been removed which were core reasons I used the app. The most unforgivable example which prompted this review is the removal of the visitors section - while bad enough, they run salt in the wound by still notifying you when you have one, but are greeted with a message saying you cant see them anymore when you try to interact with the notification. INCREDIBLY frustrating - especially when the thumbnail in the notifications really catches your eye and there is absolutely no way to find them. This is absolute bs, OkCupid. Dont try to be other dating apps. They are good at what they do, but you offered something completely different. Youve forgotten who you are

This app has gone from bad to worse. They eliminated the who viewed me section claiming some statistical assessment, that is B.S. If I view someone and they view me back Im more inclined to message them or vice versa. Pretty simple right? But they think thats not what users want. Bring back the who viewed me feature!

Not being able to see who viewed my profile was a deal breaker. Update: nobody cares about invisible viewing. Wed all much rather be able to see whos actually interested in our page than not. You guys removed a huge feature unnecessarily

Update 7/30/17: did you take away the ability to see who viewed you? That was one of the nice things about this app! Just when I was thinking to get A-list you go and do that... minus 1 star until it comes back. Not a huge fan of the tinder redesign. Okc was one of the last traditional dating apps and I kinda liked that. Hope they revert back to the more open search method. Old users can find the old method but new users wont even know its there I think. Have had mixed luck meeting people on here. I think online dating has made everyone a bit too picky but thats a whole other topic. ?

For a guy, online dating is already a difficult process. We have to fight against so many other men, put enormous effort into our profiles and messages to stand out, and even then there is no promise we will find someone. Even worse, most men were forced into situations on dating sites to have to pay to continue using these sites, simply because we have so much competition. OkCupid was able to excel above other dating sites by allowing people to see who visited your page, or turn it off to browse incognito. It was a saving grace compared to other dating sites which required you to pay just to know who even LOOKED at you. But now, the "geniuses" behind OkCupid have decided to remove that feature, putting it in their "A list" paid subscription service. So now people like me not only dont know who liked us without paying, but now dont even know who visited us without paying?! Its bad enough women generally dont message first, but now its almost impossible to find a match without paying. This is already on top of spammy ads, mind you. And the worst part is the devs response to this. Their official response that you can read to multiple reviews in complaint to this is that now people can browse incognito, with visitors removed. EXCEPT THAT WAS LITERALLY AN OPTION WE ALREADY HAD! There was literally a button you could press to browse incognito in your settings, if you didnt want to show up in peoples visitors section. And the devs have the GALL to try and claim removing a feature was for a new feature that was already in the site. I cannot believe how downhill this app has gone. Its almost like they want to get rid of their customers, in order to make a very short term buck. Shame on you, OkCupid. Shame on you. EDIT: to the developers response, that is a LIE! Invisible browsing was NEVER an A-list feature. What was an A-list feature was to be able to browse invisibly, but still see who visited you. In the normal version, you had the option of seeing who visited you, and the people you visited seeing you visited, or browsing invisible, like you can now. You literally removed a feature, and are claiming its an upgrade.

Totally money driven now, was a quality app, met some nice people on here in the past.

Shouldnt have updated the app. They took away the "who viewed me" tab. Now this is a pay feature. Awful! Going back to plenty of fish. *update 8/2/2017* I still stand by my original review after the developer wrote back. This is just another way to get people to pay. I loved the app until this latest update. They say its because people didnt want to be seen by other people but thats the whole point. Time to swipe right on everyone and hope for a match with someone I like.
