OkCupid Dating: Date Singles App Reviews

Hate Redesign!!!

BRING BACK "VIEWED YOU"!!! Why in the hell would you take that feature off? Really awful decisions lately, OKC ? Mad that I updated...seeing who visited me was a great way to find new people to check out. Boo.

No more visitors list???

As a guy, I cant see any reason to log in anymore as the list of women who visited my profile was the main indicator I used in deciding who to message. UPDATE: I received a canned "developer response" that gave some nonsensical and convoluted reasoning that described removal of the visitors list as a new free feature. Note to developers: My review did not mention "A List" and invisible browsing was already a free feature which I did not choose to use. I relied on "visible" browsing and the visitors list to determine which profiles to visit and possibly message. With both of those previously free features gone, I no longer use the app/site since I long ago stopped browsing profiles and messaging random women because it proved to be a waste of my time. The only message responses and dates that I ever got were the result of the now-discontinued visitors list and "mutual likes."

Cant see whos viewed your profile anymore

A lot of recent changes make this app basically useless. The algorithm has no one in my area and now I cant even tell who has viewed my profile when a couple days ago I could. This app is garbage now

Long time user with significant issues

My biggest problems, and they are significant, have been going on since I first signed up around ten years ago. It is an ongoing frustration that we cannot refine searches to a certain percentage, as its basically pointless for people with high enemy percentages or low match percentages to show up on searches. It also bewilders me as to why I get a limited amount of users in my searches, instead of every user that fits the parameters of those searches. I keep waiting for these obvious, glaring, issues to be fixed and instead we get Tinderesque searches and platform upgrades instead of solutions to actual, long-existing issues. Ive had a lot of success with the site/app and will continue using it as its the best site/app of its kind, but these problems bring the experience down rather significantly. It is beyond belief that I see people with very high percentage numbers in the special blend that flat out do not appear, no matter what I try, when I sort by match percentage. EDIT: I like how the developer response to my review was a form letter that didnt address any of my issues. Not only that, but the website/app has gotten even worse because of the removal of visitors, which was one of the best ways to gauge interest from other users. Removal of that feature has seriously affected the utility of OKCupid, and I would stress that the developers have made a major mistake by getting rid of it. Stop making OKCupid worse!

Time to Delete

Not that this app was any good to begin with, but now youve take away The who I viewed, and whos viewed me. Im not paying to see that. The matches are few, and its like Snapchat started a dating site with all the filters women are using. What a bunch of crap.

Quit removing useful features

This app used to be useful when you could see who visited you. Their excuse to remove the feature is hiding their real intention of driving revenue. Want to see who visited you, pay. Want to see who liked you, pay. Next theyll require you to pay to contact someone. Being able to see who visited you made choosing who to message easier.

Not enough in my area

Please target your ads towards young people in and around Cook County, Illinois

Viewed users

Annoyed by the fact that you cant see who viewed you anymore. If I wanted the invisibility feature I would have paid for it. Sometimes people are shy and dont want to make the first move. This feature allows you to see if someone has looked at your profile more than once. Please bring it back.

Useless. Fake profiles, cant see who visits.

This site has gone downhill since it started. Its filled with fake/fraudulent female profiles. Now, suddenly, they no longer let you see who visited you: the ONE way you could tell if a profile had a least a human connected to it. If you pay you can see who "likes" you. But not who visits you. Its defunct. The one good feature is that you can write what you want in a profile like an adult because they dont review it the way Match does.

Used to be alright but has only gotten worse

So Ive had issues with their updates before, taking away features and what not. I frequently used the "whos new" feature because Id like to see whos new on here in the area (not much variety) so that way Im not seeing the same 20 or so people I always see. But now with this update I cant use the feature I sort of relied on. I hope it comes back I never understood the need to remove features that really never caused much of an issue. **Edit** Now even further they are removing features. I for one like being able to see who viewed means let people know I viewed them its a part of flirting on a dating site. Nobody wanted this "free feature" crap and now I feel this is going even further down the drain. I used to love this app but its become such a burden to use now, all theyre doing is pushing people away from using it.

Invisible browsing does nothing when you have to PAY TO SEE LIKES!

They apparently removed visitors due to people not liking showing up on others pages. If I remember correctly, they had it built in that in their premium service one could pay to browse invisibly already, so this seems like an extreme non issue, not to mention what were left with (the "likes" system) isnt even accessible UNLESS you pay making OkCupid essentially just on the same level as most of the other subscription dating sites (well, at least they still allow free messaging, I guess but they really have been removing features for awhile now and Im seriously debating just trying my luck in the real world because of it)

Signaling the End of a Great App

Tl:dr - OkC is making some very strange business and feature decisions that are actively limiting its purpose. Take business elsewhere. OkCupid has been a staple of expanding my social life for awhile now, and its no stranger to changes big and small. But its been slowly removing a lot of the usefulness thats put it ahead of its competitors in support of being more friendly to a very enigmatic demographic of users. Now the most recent decision to take away the ability to see visitors and recall who you last visited borders on insanity. It takes out a huge portion of what gets people looking at each others profiles and makes the whole thing feel stagnant. They copy and paste the same response to the issue, which is that it allows everyone to feel the comfort of browsing invisibly, but honestly, why would you completely remove that when you couldve just made the option free from the A-list paywall? Why remove anything at all? The framework is there and theres no discernible monetary benefit to change a feature people like by and large. Im definitely requesting a refund for my A-list if this is the direction its headed.

Getting rid of who viewed you is a scam to us

You guys basically got rid of that so we dont know who liked us, just another way to try to force us to pay money no thanks

No more "views"?

Removing the "who viewed you" feature is like this... You go to your favorite singles bar only to be handed a blindfold at the door. "Sorry, people wont come in if they know making eye contact will be seen." You reluctantly put on the blindfold and wait to get pinched (aka "liked"). Isnt making eye contact (or seeing who viewed you) part of the dating process?

Visitors gone...

With visitors gone this app has become useless beyond a doubt. Seeing who visited your profile made it easy to view someone you could potentially match with. Instead theyve made "invisible browsing" free. Well who cares if nobody knows whos looking? Absolutely pointless. Besides that the fake/spam accounts still outnumber real people 10-1 and they do nothing about it except let the uses moderate it themselves. Officially done with this app. Developers do not care unless your dumb enough to use A list.

OKC Makes it Easy for People to Stalk You

With todays removal of the the Visitor feature, OKCupid has made it incredibly easy for people to stalk you without your knowing. The only way to stop it now is to go Incognito (an additional $59.95 for six months, not included with A List), meaning that *nobody* can see your profile unless you punch a hole through your incognitoness specifically for them, in which case whats the point of being on a dating site? I absolutely will not be removing my A List subscription, and I will be telling all of my followers (over 20,000 in total) to go somewhere else.

Visitors Reviewed Gone

I want to see whos checking my profile. If people want to browse invisibly then let them pay. Im not trying to stalk people. What good is a dating app if you cant see whos interested in you? This was not a feature people asked for. You removed it without people wanting that. I used to be able to search for so much criteria, but now I cant. Its as devoid as tinder. Now only people looking to hook up. When you downgrade what you offer you get a lower quality of people using the site.

No more visited you

In an obvious attempt to force people to get A-list, now we cant see who visited us. Im not sure the Apps worth using anymore, that was something that I used to make connection.

Worst update

Why would the developers get rid of the "who viewed you" option?? That was one of the best features of okc that set it apart from the other popular dating apps...bring it back! Okc is going to lose a lot of its base. And who pays for A-list anyway? ?

Good +

I use mostly the app. I find this site/app allows me to reach a fair amount of folks without upgrading or boosting. The algorithm seems to be pretty good. Im a SWF in a metro area.
