This new update took away a feature that allowed you to see who has looked at your profile. Cant take away features guys.

Ive been on this website mainly cause its free..Ive found at least 80% of the men are untruthful. They dont know what it means to want a relationship! This is not "Tinder" or "Adult Friend Finder" have some respect!!!

I closed my old account last night and made a brand new one. My old account was made in 2011 and Im a completely different person now, so this new account would be a lot fresher.....until I realized I cant do ANYTHING with this new account. I can only see about 10 visitors, when the old account allowed an unlimited view. They charge FOR EVERYTHING now. Its absolutely unnecessary. I might as well go to eHarmony if Im gonna pay to find a nice guy to try to link up with. *rolls eyes* Business as usual. Update 08.11.17 - OkCupid removed the visitors section and theyve made online dating a little bit harder. What are yall doing over there? Smfh.

With the new update you can not see the visitors.

If I cant see whos new and my visitors, there is hardly any benefit from using this dating app. Bring back key features please!

Not so fond of the loss of visitors. Looking at the other reviews, this was an incredibly bad move. Plenty of people hate this.

The “swipe to like/dislike” section is not really intuitive when trying to view additional pics. It takes too many clicks and reaches across the screen. From a UX design perspective, this needs improvement. Not every user hastily looks at one pic, then swipes. Some users view all pics and read profiles. Doing away with “who’s viewed your profile” and making "invisible browsing" a baked-in feature now was a terrible decision. Like another review mentioned, it was a great way to meet people whom you potentially might not have ever come across. That knowledge of someone viewing your profile may help embolden some to send a message and spark something whereas before, timidness may have interfered. Browsing someones profile invisibly in the dating world is not useful and has no value attached to it. Its actually a bit creepy if you relate that to reality. OkCupid feels a lot more hollow than it used to be. My recommendations: Make it more intuitive with better UX design (especially on the swipe section), ease up on the swipe culture initiative entirely, give us the option of turning on/off "invisible browsing" and stay focused on personality building and matching.

Yeah, removing the ability to see visitors has caused me to lose interest in the app. I literally stopped checking it. Its what set it apart from Tinder or Bumble. Bummer.

Horrible marketing plans to get users money by removing the "visited by" option. Now you cant even see who was even interested in reading your profile. OKC said the option had no use. Bad liars. There are many good reasons for that option. It enabled you to block a user that kept stalking your profile. Enabled you to send a message to a visitor who may have been too shy to send the first message. Ridiculous they have gotten. EDIT To Dev Response: Im not talking about "invisible browsing" Im saying it was nice for users to have had the option to see who VISITED your profile. Now users cannot.

Removing who visited was a major mistake. Ive never cared about invisible browsing, and looking at the comments Im sensing the same from other reviewers. Seems like this was a poorly calibrated update apparently intended to leverage additional payment from users. Unfortunate, but not surprising. UPDATE: Thanks for the totally canned response "With visitors gone, now invisible browsing is a free option" shows you didnt read the review and are just playing whack a mole. Impressively bad PR.

What was the rationale of getting rid of this feature in the new version? Make people buy A-list? This was a very handy thing, so you could see if someone was visiting you constantly. At least for people who didnt browse invisibly. Everything else in the app is fine, though it would be nice if you could refine your quick matches by % and height.

Ive been on okc since the beginning. When it was a social experiment in analytics and a real fun platform. I have made many bffs over the years! But removing the viewers tab is tantamount to betrayal. I wont pay for a-list. [edit]: "invisible browsing" was already free through hot-or-not / tinder swiping. Make no mistake: removing viewers tab was a big blow to the feature set.

Taking Visitors away removes a vital part of my arsenal. When a woman visits my profile, it doesnt matter whether or not she likes me. Her interest was peaked to visit me. I have the A List for invisible browsing. I would go to her profile, read it, if i am interested I will reveal my visit and send her a playful, witty opener based on her visiting me and something from her profile. OKC took that from me. "Likes", Match percentages, and questions dont really mean that much. There are many women I see who match me are 90% and above and dont show me an interest when I contact them. The "Likes" I received were mainly based on the swipe game looking at my photos and not my profile. "Likes" without visits mean nothing. I mainly get "likes" from overseas. The other problem which is not a problem with any online dating site/app is human nature. The majority of women arent, and know they dont have to, visit mens profiles. They just sit back and let us battle each other for their interest all the while boasting to their girlfriends on how many hits they get. Also, what is wrong if a guy only says Hi, How are you?, etc...? Maybe the guy is a little nervous. Once he gets going he will be alright. I dont do this to women or complain when women just say Hello to me. Many of these women are ridiculous. Since this new change, I havent even received any likes. Even overseas! I will be disabling my account soon.

Bad updates. Removal of visitor feature is stupid. Other updates bad as commenters point out. And there seems to be an over-monitoring of the private messaging that is consensual. Keep it up, OkCupid...Im about to part ways with you.

tl;dr - Im way less interested in even using the app at all now since the visitors option was removed. Removing the visitors feature after one positive beta test seems to have angered way more people than just me. Ive read your blog post, so theres no need for your seemingly uninterested form response. The least you could have done was warn everyone that you would be taking it away. Like say a banner at the top of the page, or a notification when you open the app. I personally used the visitors option to see if anyone was even looking at my profile, regardless of whether I was interested in talking with them. Ive also met all people I have dated on your website, and the visitors option was always like a digital way to see when they were checking me out while I was talking to them. It was a nice substitute when meeting people in person isnt something Im exactly good at. Not that youll listen or even care what one person has to say, but I am very disappointed that a feature I loved and used a lot is now gone without notice.

I saw this dating app as the only free dating app option available but now with the removal of seeing visitors I use it about 90% less. It was the only way to get an idea of who had liked me or to let someone else see that I had liked them. Im very disappointed with this change. Ive read your reasons for the change but it seems it was truly done to make users pay for the app. I might as well switch to Match, since Im going have to pay for a real service now. Its really a bummer, and I hope the option is turned back on.

I have been on OKC for several years, and I have to say I have been extremely disappointed with the most recent updates. They keep on taking away more and more search features every update. Most recently who viewed me and who I viewed features were taken away.

Video ads every 2.7 seconds, unusable features, theyve thrown their morals in the garbage can and its another for-profit operation that doesnt deliver on its promises. Edit: I appreciate your response. I will try uninstalling and see if it fixes any of my issues. My largest gripe is that the ads are so frequent and are full on video or game ads that are click bait, often with a tiny x in the corner (and sometimes with no x at all). This makes the app feel "unusable." I understand the quest for profit, its just a bit much to keep me using it.

I wish there were less fake profiles. I also noticed that OKCupid got rid of the ability to view pages that Ive liked. OKCupid also got rid of the ability to view peoples pages that have looked or visited my profile page. Those were great feature!! I wonder why OkCupid ended or deleted those features?
